Driving Directions

1km south of Texas on north-eastern bank of Dumaresq River

The Dumaresq River Picnic Area, also know as the "Les (Jingles) Myers Rest Area" is just south of Texas on the border of Qld & NSW. It is a level grassy and shaded campground with good facilities where you can swim and fish in the river.
Texas has a dump point at the council depot and shops and supermarkets will provide everything that the average nomad will need.

There is a free shower with hot water in the Texas Township. The Shower is located opposite the Post Office at the Corner of High and Avon Streets, 1.7km away. A dump point and potable water is available outside the council works depot.

Just across the Texas Bridge in NSW is the Bonshaw Weir Camping Area, a basic campground where you can fish and swim, but with minimal facilities. Must be self contained.

There are also other camping area's across the river on the NSW side. To access these, drive through picnic area and across one lane bridge and turn left.
