Driving Directions

17km south-west of Mount Gambier on Mount Salt Road. Proceed via Bay Road and Riddock Highway. Turn west into Mount Salt Road.

Little Blue Lake Rest Area is a roomy circular rest area with a level limestone surface. There is room for any size rig here. There are no facilities other than a rubbish bin.
Adjacent to the rest area is the Little Blue Lake, consisting of a sink hole in the limestone that has a deep fresh water lake in it. There is a stairway leading down to a pontoon on the lake which provides access for those who wish to swim or canoe on the lake.

The lake is not very big, with a diameter of similar size to an olympic swimming pool or even less.

A sign warns that blue-green algae is sometimes present in the lake. This can cause skin irritation.

Wild ducks make the lake their home. There are numerous hollows in the limestone sides of the lake above water level.
