Balranald Picnic Area is a peaceful day use area on the bank of the Murrumbidgee River on the edge of town. There are picnic tables and bins, but no toilet or BBQs.
This is a good spot to throw in a line, on a bend in the river. There is a boat ramp for those who wish to launch their tinnie and a small beach area for the landlubbers.

There is plenty of room for parking any size rig here and the road loops around between We Street and Cally Street. A stand of large river gums provides a pleasant birdwatching and bushwalking space.
