The Barmedman mineral pool, is the largest mineral pool in the world.
The pool was built mid 20th century by the people of the town themselves with no government assistance for the construction or maintenance. Barmedman is truly the Australian town that saved itself, with all maintenance performed by the local community and funds raised by the town.

Bland council has stepped up to the plate and provided electric BBQ facilities and more recently grants for additional works around the pool from fencing to new pumping facilities, a contribution that is more than appreciated by all those who have worked so hard along with their families before them.
