Driving Directions

Adjacent to water tower

The name Blackwater is synonymous with coal mining and the Blackwater Lions Park Rest Area is adjacent to the Capricorn Highway, beyond which is the train line that transports the coal to Gladsone for export.
The Blackwater Lions Park is a wide grassy area with good amenities and a BBQ as you would expect from any Lions Park.

It is also surrounded with fully loaded flagpoles around its perimeter. They are loaded with the flags of 37 nations whose citizens came to establish the mining industry here. It is one of the largest displays of multi-national flags in the world.

There is also an old steam locomotive displayed in the park, which should get the kids (both young and old) excited.
