Boondi Lookout is carpeted by ancient lava flows into which cavities have formed, which become pools of water after rain. This free rest area has a lookout which provides sweeping views of the surrounding country.
There is a section of the old highway which still has a good bitumen surface and leads off into the scrub, where numerous tracks provide good camping spots away from the traffic.

Plenty of wildflowers in season. There is mobile phone signal here. A bin is placed at the entrance beside the highway.
