Cathedral Reserve is on the Mt Irvine Rd. Mt Irvine side of Mt Wilson village adjacent to the Cathedral of Ferns. It is a large open area with many large shade trees.
The Reserve has two pit toilets and two modern composting toilets. Tank water next to Shelter shed with picnic tables and seats scattered throughout the reserve.

You can picnic or camp in the open or amongst the trees.

Bollards prevent cars driving on the grassed areas. Recent car parking areas have been extended to cater for the large numbers of campers and picnickers who use the area.

A large number of open fireplaces with BBQ facilities have been installed by the Progress Association to aid campers and to discourage the lighting of fires on the ground destroying the grass and increasing the risk of bushfire.

Camping is free and no booking is required. There are toilets, tank water (not suitable for drinking but can be boiled or used for other purposes), fireplaces, picnic tables and garbage bins. Remember to bring your own drinking water, firewood, warm clothes (it gets cold at night), toilet paper and your own camping gear.

Mount Wilson is 8km from the turn off on Bells Line of Road. The road into Mt Wilson is narrow and winding with one 10km/h bend. Drive with caution and take your time.
