There is a story that the infamous Tasmanian bushranger, Martin Cash, hid in a pear tree near the local police station here, after he had escaped from the village lockup.
This is a good grassy camp just behind the History Centre. There are toilets and a BBQ also access to water. And some lovely little ponies in a field opposite the camp.
