The Crawford Creek Rest Area is adjacent to the Landsborough Highway on a vast, flat plain with few trees. It is adjacent to the Western River, a labyrinth of channels which fill and flood the area in the wet. This is Channel Country.
In the wet, the Channel Country becomes an inland sea as the rivulets and creeks fill and overflow across the plain.

A good stop over. Large parking areas are paved, some gravel. All level.

Great place to overnight has ample space for vans away from the pull in areas away from the road. Trucks cant fit where the vans go so its solely vans in that part. clean well maintained toilets lots of picnic shelters this is one of the better rest areas on the road between Winton and Longreach

This truck stop has 2 large sealed areas for camping either side of the toilet block. Several covered picnic tables. A large ex gravel stockpile area adjacent. Please use a waste water bucket on the seal, empty on the plants.
