Once the largest cattle trucking centre in the world, Dajarra has an interesting history. The campground is located at the old railway station and has power available for a fee.
Before the advent of the road train, cattle from isolated stations in Queensland and Northern Territory were trucked to the rail head at Dajarra for transport to markets on the eastern seaboard.

The old water tower that was used to replenish the steam locomotives, still stands as a lone testament to those times.

When you find a place like Dajarra, you know that you have seen the outback.
