Driving Directions

From waypoint at Mount Surprise, turn north-west onto road (police station on the corner) and continue for 28km to Elizabeth Creek. Campground is on your right.

Elizabeth Creek Campground is on private property and is the only campground authorised by the property owners in this area. Topaz fossicking is the name of the game at O'Briens Creek not far from here.
In days gone by, Topaz was discarded here so there is plenty to be found along with Aquamarines and Quartz.

Topaz is the Birthstone for Saggitarians which includes Clyde Camel. It is reputed to be an excellent stone for relaxation and comfort.

Frankly, Clyde thinks that there is little relaxation to be had from sitting on a stone, regardless of stone colour.
