The Emerald Botanic Gardens were established in 1987 and provide recreational facilities for local residents and visitors to Emerald. Here you can enjoy Kayaking, fishing, cycling and bird watching on the bank of the Nogoa River.
Overnight stopover is allowed outside the botanic gardens and the facilities inside the gardens area available for use by those staying overnight.

Camp spots along fence under the rail line. Only one train early evening, but be warned it was a cattle freight train and some spillage from the rain can be expected. Be thankful cows don’t fly.
There is also a relatively level sealed area away from the rail line. Traffic noise reduces over night and starts up again in the early hours.

Emerald Botanic Gardens offer a pleasant stroll and seating for contemplation.

Walk to the supermarket via walkway under the road.
