Eyre Waterhole Rest Area is a roomy gravel rest area on the Flinders Highway, just south of Streaky Bay. This is an historic site where the explorer John Eyre camped. So if you stay here you are camping in his footsteps.
There is a picnic table and some nice shade, but no other facilities.

Just a short walk down a path takes you to the famed waterhole where Eyre camped with his men and horses. The waterhole is only ankle deep, but as Eyre commented, it kept filling no matter how much water was removed.
