The First Settlers Park is a free overnighter in Benarkin. The rest area has hot showers and there are 4 power points available for use by caravans. Power is coin operated, 3 hours for $2.
The Blackbutt to Linville Rail Trail runs behind the Benarkin camping area. The Benarkin to Linville Station section is 18 kilometers long. Features include pockets of remnant hoop pine rainforest, mountain ridges and giant grass trees.

Benarkin has a general store which is directly opposite the rest area. The town has a population of about 200 residents. The cost of diesel is about the same as Brisbane's lower prices.

Excellent track for both walking & bike riding.

Rail Trail to Blackbutt 4.7Km easy almost flat walk, 2 1/2 hours return.
