The Howlong Lions Park Rest Area is a delightful spot set on an island among the snaking branches of the Murray River. Free overnighter where you can stay for 2 nights and cast a line into the river for a tasty dinner.
A truly beautiful spot in a wrap-around section of the river. This of course is popular, so if you roll in at last light, there may not be any space left.

Can be boggy and very slippery after rain.
