Isla Gorge is a great place for an inland stopover. The picnic and camping area overlooks the gorge and is just 1.3 km off the highway. Camp overnight and watch the sun set over the orange-coloured cliffs of Isla Gorge.
The campground is stony gravel and whilst "big rigs" could fit, there would be limited spaces. The 1.3km of dirt road into campground is very good, and, being hard, gravel base, should be OK in the wet.

Take care and keep away from cliff edges – they can be deceptive and are often closer than you think. Sandstone is brittle and may crumble unexpectedly. Please supervise children at all times and take extra care when using binoculars or cameras at these sites.

There are no walking tracks in Isla Gorge and loose, crumbly rock makes the descent into the gorge dangerous. Only well-equipped, experienced walkers should enter this part of the park.
