Jim Mitchell Park Rest Area is a small but neat free overnighter. A grassy well maintained spot, approximately one block west from the highway. Easy access in and out. Limited space. Adjacent to railway line. Only the loudest trucks are heard at night.
There is a drinking water tap located near the toilet block which is suitable for filling up your van. This water is natural spring water from a nearby local spring. There is overflow parking on the other side of the railway line if the main area is full.

Dalveen is on the Northern end of the Stanthorpe Wine and Fruit Trail. The overnighter is popular with backpackers who pick fruit and veg in the area.

Short walk to the local shops which include a Post Office.

Worth the walk up to the top of Pine Crescent. Between the Hall and the School (in the hall grounds) is the Old Dalveen Jail (see pic).

If you are lucky enough to be there on a Friday, you are invited to the sportsman club for a very good and reasonably priced dinner and drinks with the locals. A short walk over the railway line, then straight up the street.

The water tap is suitable for filling your tanks. The water is actually Natural Spring Water and comes from a nearby spring. Overflow parking is available on the other side of the railway line if the main area is full.
