John Oxley Park Wellington is a large park beside the Macquarie River near the junction of the Bell River. It offers extensive walking trails, as well as a boat ramp for those who wish to explore the river.
This area is known for platypus sightings and is a popular kayaking spot. Care should be taken when paddling on the river as there are some hidden snares. Swimming is not permitted due to the hazards in the river.
