John Tennant Rest Area is a long, bitumen drive through rest area on the southbound side of Lincoln Highway. There is shade and a picnic table, but no other facilities.
The rest area is also used by trucks, so it is a good plan to pull off the bitumen onto the gravel near the large shady tree.

There is a monument to John Tennant, who was the first to drive sheep overland, around the head of Spencer Gulf to this region.
