Driving Directions

Proceed to waypoint on Poatina Road, 30km S of Poatina. Turn E onto Gunns Marsh Road and continue for about 3.5km. Branch R at Y junction and continue for about 1.5km to campground beside lake. Dirt road.

Arthurs Lake is Tasmania's most popular trout fishery, attracting more anglers and more angler effort than any other waterway in the state.
Arthurs Lake brown trout population is totally self-sustaining. Each year fish in excess of 4.5kg are caught and in recent years, fish up to 7kg have been recorded.

Whilst having a boat can be an advantage and open up more opportunities there are a number of good fishing spots accessible from the shore with roads, some requiring 4WD, providing access to the majority of the shoreline.
