Kelly Reserve in Parkes is undoubtedly one of the best day rest areas that you are likely to come across anywhere. It is immediately obvious that Parkes is an RV friendly city and proud of it.
There is a driver reviver located here which operates during holiday periods. A car park is provided with an entry on the Newell Highway and there is adequate caravan and large rig parking in Thomas Street.

Acres of grassy parkland stretch out beyond the toilets and dump point with covered picnic tables and electric BBQs to enjoy. There is also a large children's play facility. A map shows the route of a walking track through the area.

You can't miss the park when driving on the Newell Highway not far from the Visitor Information Centre, as there is a steam locomotive planted right at the front, proudly displaying its name; "Spirit of Parkes" on the boiler.
