Driving Directions

Follow Robinson Road to waypoint at junction of Batten Point Road. Turn south-east into Batten Point Road for 20km of dirt road to fishing club.

A great place to fish for Barra, however it's a long way to go from the east coast 2500km. Bitumen road all bar the last 21 Klm which is good dirt, graded about 3 or 4 times a year. Move out November to March, wet season.

King Ash Bay provides a facility for fishing club members who belong to various clubs in the Territory. Each club has its own camping area and all share common facilities such as pub, store, fuel and office.
There is approx 600Km + of waterways in the area, as well as the Sir Edward Pellow group of Islands just offshore.

The King Ash Bay Caravan Park is huge, as well as a generator area, there is power and water are readily available. A licensed bar come clubhouse come weigh in station is right on the bank of the McArthur River.

All facilities of a regular van park are available, even a golf course. A service station general store is well stocked.

House boats and dongas are for rent.

Be careful of Crocs, as there are plenty. Keep you dog away from the water.
