Lake Elizabeth, hidden deep in the Otways near the township of Forrest has inspiring beauty with heavily timbered flanks and calm waters punctuated by the trunks of dead trees, drowned when the valley was flooded more than 50 years ago.
At dusk and early in the morning, the elusive platypus can be seen darting through the water, catching a morsel.

There are 15 sheltered campsites on the river, close to the lake. The access track is unsuitable for cars towing caravans. This is a walk-in camping area, approximately 80 to 100 metres from the parking area.

Camping is free and on a first come, first served basis.
