Driving Directions

Proceed to wayoint, 32km E of Mount Isa on Barkly Highway. Turn S and proceed through gate, closing gate after you. At 6km from highway take right fork in road. Proceed a further 2km to boatramp. Note: No turning space at ramp. You will need to turn at top and reverse about 100m with a boat trailer.

2WD OK in dry weather but 4WD is preferable. While caravans could be towed with 4WD it is not advised as there are steep sections on narrow road. 4WD essential in wet. Camper trailers OK.

Located on Rosebud Station, Lake Mary Kathleen is a large body of water created by a dam on the East branch of the Leichhardt River.
This lake is not part of the old uranium mine and is at a completely different location.
