Loves Creek Kawarren Rest Area is spit across both sides of the Colac-Lavers Hill Road, with a gravel parking space and toilets on one side and a forest rest area and picnic tables on the other.
When the Colac - Beech Forest railway line opened, a station at this location was named Loves Creek, but was changed to Kawarren in 1902.

Sawn timber from nearby sawmills was transported to the station by tramway. A lime works to the north operated from 1903 to 1957. This produced from 2,000 to 2,500 tons of lime per annum and comprised the second largest tonnage of freight carried by tis railway line after timber.

Beautiful spot, but please be aware of where you park as this park always dropping large branches from the tall timbers that are growing there.
