Lowbank Landing is a free camping area with a boat ramp about 9.5km east of Waikeri. There are no facilities here. Good selection of campsites with a sandy base and some shade. Turn right from boat ramp for camp spots.
The river here is wider and slow flowing, with easy access via the gravel boat ramp. Ideal for boating, fishing and canoeing.

The spectacular cliffs that are a feature of Maize Island have given way to a flatter landscape, dotted with river gums and acacias. This is a better choice for large rigs than Maize Island.
