The Gooloogong Rest Area offers basic amenities. Power is available and there is an honesty box for donation for power. Hotel across the road and Post office/general store in the side street.
The camp has a campground shed with a great wood heater and wood supplied. There is a separate donation box for the firewood. This is a pleasant venue for evening chats gathered around the fire, very sociable! And it can be used for cooking as well.

The water on tap is surprisingly fresh, without the mineral taste often encountered in outback country towns.

There is a very good Chinese/Thai restaurant at the Country Club with well priced meals.

Too many people overstaying the permitted 72 hours at this facility.
I agree with RB
We stayed for 2 nights and left a generous donation. Nice area and good meal at the pub. Locals are friendly too. Sites are generous in size and the water supply is a welcome feature. Great initiative by the locals I just hope there are not too many stingy travellers who fail to leave a donation.

A gold coin donation per night is inappropriate for the facilities provided in this day and age. I would suggest at least $5/night would be more suitable and would ensure the facility remains open in the future.
Great spot for an overnighter when travelling. Pub across the road and an ice cream shop down the street - very civilised!
Great spot, pity about the formalisation of the area
