Driving Directions

Proceed to waypoint 57km E of Mount Isa, 64km W of Cloncurry on N side of Barkly Highway. Drive through gateway and continue past township on RHS. Travel a further 4 or 5km along road, being careful of potholes. Take note of safety signs.

The Mary Kathleen mine produced uranium ore from 1954 to 1984. The Blue lake at the bottom of the open cut mine is spectacular, but care should be taken not to fall in, as it is toxic and radioactive.
