Mother of Ducks Lagoon is a large stretch of water, about 14km in around and is a silted volcanic crater. The lagoon is a high altitude wetland reserve that attracts bird lovers from all over the world. Great for walking, cycling and picnics.
The position of the map pin/GPS coordinates is at a small loop by entrance to the reserve, which is designated as a day rest area.

The main designated overnight area is on the grass North of the toilet block and there is also a smaller area on the grass South of the circular drive.

There is plenty of shade and quality grass. The main overnight area sits in a green zone with Leggo Park to the east and the golf course/lagoon to the west. A truly magic spot in summer.

At 1330m, Guyra is high country and the local caravan park advertises that it is the highest caravan park in Oz. Even in summer, night temperatures are cool and winter night temps, very low.

Easy walking distance to the bowling club and Guyra's business district/shopping etc; some of the historical architecture is amazing.

Dogs are allowed in the overnight area and day use parking area but not on the lagoon reserve.

Guyra trivia: A widescale 4-day search and recovery of a lost boy in 1960 gained Oz wide interest and resulted in a hit song by Jonny Ashcroft titled "Little Boy Lost"; (Where's my Daddy, where's my Daddy cried the little boy lost). A film was subsequently made in the Guyra area.

Great spot, and the bowling club is 100 mts down the road, they have great meals, and if your on the right night you might even win a meat pack.....
