Numurkah Test Area is a pleasant grassy picnic area on the bank of Broken Creek, a broad waterway that runs through Nurmukah. The name Numurkah means War Shield in the local Aboriginal Kwatt Kwatta language.
The park features a steam locomotive and other old machinery. There is a BBQ and some picnic tables. There are no toilets here.

The park is opposite the Numurkah Swimming Centre and there is a post box across the road.
