The Peter Denny Lookout is a free overnight rest area with a view. Located on the southern side of the road from Sandstone to Leinster, it has a drive through configuration. There are no amenities here.
Plenty of room for the biggest rigs. No toilets or shade shelters, but plenty of bins, fireplaces, picnic tables and shade trees.

The countryside looks deceptively flat here and it is the last place where you would expect to find a lookout, however upon closer inspection you find that the lookout is on the edge of a breakaway, where the land falls away and you can explore the cliff faces.

The town of Sandstone has quite a history, a gold rush town in the late 19th and early 20th century, it once boasted a population of about 6,000 with its collection of characters and tall stories.
