Ration Point Camping Area is a secluded spot on the Turon River, just outside the village of Sofala, just off the Upper Turon Road. There are no facilities here, except for some rubbish bins. Good 3G mobile signal.
The entrance track presents a sharp turn, off Upper Turon Road, as well as a steep crest. This may present a problems for some caravans, but if you can get past that, there is plenty of level space at the bottom of the track to park your rig.

The camels suggest that leaving the caravan at the Joyce Pearce Memorial Park in Sofala and checking out the entrance to the road without the van in tow may be a good move. Alternatively, if you bring the van and don't like the look of the entrance, you can always proceed to Greens Point Campground, which has easy access and better facilities, but no 3G signal.

The surface at Ration Point is mostly stony, as it is on the edge of the river. Even when the river isn't flowing, there is a nice lagoon here of considerable size, that is suitable for swimming and kayaking. If you like to fish then that is a possibility here as well.

There are numerous 4WD track emanating from the campground for those who like to explore.
