Sawpit Campground is an excellent free campground among tall timber at the site of an old sawmill. You can still see some of the abandoned derelict equipment left here from the logging days of the past.
This is a lovely bush camp, very large and can accommodate large rigs. There is a modern longdrop toilet. Some sites have fire pits and there is plenty of wood to collect in the Mt Clay State Forest which is where this camp is situated, There are good walking and cycle tracks too.

The area can be quite greasy after rain. It is not solar friendly due to tree cover.

4wd tracks and a mountain bike track nearby.
