Sheba Dams Reserve Camping Area is a well-equipped free campground, 3km south of Hanging Rock on Barrys Road. It provides large grassy areas for camping, shaded by tall eucalypt trees.
Throw in a line, sit and feed the ducks or go for a swim. If you are adventurous you might try your luck at some gold fossicking.

Sheba Dams were built as a gold sluicing facility, during the gold rush days of the late 19th century.

Clean drop toilets. There is swimming in summer but it can be cold in winter and can snow. There are beautiful views over Nundle and very peaceful camping. Room for motor homes and vans but must be self contained. Worth a couple of days.

All supplies must be taken up or a trip to Nundle is 10-15 mins.

Would not recommend the drive with a caravan unless comfortable on very steep road with 25 km corners. No through road for caravans either. Lovely spot otherwise.
