Stockton Lake is an old open-cut mine, which is now filled with water to form an artificial lake. The recreation reserve campground provides camping with wood barbecues, picnic tables, toilets with disabled access
Very pleasant spot although prone to flooding. Pit toilet at first camp, flush toilet further round the lake at the grassed camp. Water is acidic but OK for swimming. Not recommended that you swim too often though.

The ranger has advised that wood can be collected from the bush ..... this is not a National Park.

Just spent 10 days here, great spot and inexpensive, pumped from the lake for showers and washing machine. But, the toilets never cleaned and the 4 dump bins were not emptied and rubbish all over the place, us and some other campers (Young people) kept picking up the rubbish ,ranger not interested.
