Tragowel Rest Area is adjacent to the Tragowel Swamp Nature Conservation Reserve, south of Kerang. This wetland is home to a large range of bird species.
In 1960 the famed expedition lead by Burke and Wills set off to cross the continent from south to north. Their 12th camp was at this location at Tragowel Swamp.

The rest area is a roomy level bitumen drive through configuration, with plenty of space both on and off the bitumen. There are a couple of picnic tables, here, but no other facilities.
