Waikerie Lions Riverfront Park is a day use area, just downstream from the Waikerie ferry. It is a fabulous grassy riverfront park with good facilities and a great place for a picnic.
There are modern toilets and numerous covered BBQs along the river bank. Large grassy area for walking and relaxing.

It is not unusual for small boats to be tied up beside the jetty that is provided for this purpose. People travelling on the Murray can walk up to the shopping area to stock up with groceries.

A short distance away the Murray Rive Queen sits proudly moored to the river bank in a permanent position. This grand old lady of the river, her paddle wheels still, is now used as backpacker accommodation and there is a cafe on board which is open to the public.

Life on the River... it doesn't get any better than this!

Meanwhile, the river cable ferry runs day and night, transpoerting vehicles across the river. There is no charge to travel on the ferry.
