  • On the bank of the Yannarie River

Driving Directions

200m of dirt road to rest area, on the northern side of North West Coastal Highway

Yannarie River Barradale Rest Area is a free overnighter on the eastern bank of the Yannarie River, just west of the Barradale Roadhouse. Set in the stark reddish orange landscape, with a scattering of gnarled trees. There is plenty of room for large rigs
Very little shade here. The shaded area down by the river is a better option than near the toilets.

Stayed one night and it was crowded, but still plenty of space down by the river. This spot is now shown as YANNARIE RIVER rest area.

Spent the night here on Wednesday 3 June 2015. We took the advice from Robert (see below) and got there early, definitely need to be in by 4 pm, fills up incredibly fast, go closer to the river if you can, it's much more pleasant, not much road noise. a couple of people had a fire, good birdlife,

Stayed here 27/5/15 its a good overnighter but it did get crowded. Some road noise but dies off later in the night. Toilets are kept clean and are good. Lots of tables scattered around and nearby river is a nice setting.
