If you like to be near the water, then Beachport is surrounded on all sides with Lake George to the north and the Southern Ocean to the south east and west. Lake George is a great place for birdwatchers as it is a stopover for many migratory birds.
The Festival by the Sea is held in February and there are farmers' markets held in the town on a regular basis.
