Pyrenees Free Camping

The Pyrenees were named last century after the rocky mountains that straddle the border between Spain and France. The Australian Pyrenees, like its counterpart in Europe, is also a renowned wine region.
The first vineyards in the region were planted in the late 19th century, but did not survive. Then, in the 1960s and 1970s, revivalist vineyards were planted combining French expertise with Australian pride and enthusiasm that continues today. The region's winemakers are earning national and international recognition for their world class drop.
