The waters around Yorke Peninsula are rich in nutrients from the southern ocean, bringing a bountiful harvest of seafood, from tuna and kingfish to blue swimmer crabs, prawns and oysters.

Tourists from near and far enjoy the seaside holiday villages in quiet bays and beachside locations. Fishing is a drawcard year round with some regulars owning holiday shacks along the coasts of the peninsula.

At the tip of Yorke Peninsula is Innes National Park. Innes offers fantastic opportunities to enjoy camping, bushwalking, fishing and surfing. The park's mining and maritime history can be discovered by exploring the remnants of Inneston, once a booming gypsum-mining town. Scuba diving can be enjoyed among the shipwrecks that lay off the coast of the park. Overnight accommodation is available in the restored miners cottages in the historic Inneston village.
